 Trainer & Assessor – Job Description


New Futures Training is the registered training organization (21203) of VICSEG New Futures.
We are a not-for-profit, community organization assisting people from newly arrived and recently settled migrant communities and refugee backgrounds to undertake vocational training. 

For over 16 years New Futures Training has continued to provide accredited vocational training primarily in children’s services, health care, aged care, disability care, community services, short courses and more.

We are currently seeking 
an experienced and enthusiastic Food safety Trainer and Assessor to deliver training to our students. 

Training will be delivered remotely using 
Virtual Classroom technology as well as face to face practical sessions. 

Face to face sessions will be conducted in small groups, following strict physical distancing and hygiene rules. 


Sessional / Casual role 


As a Food Safety Trainer and Assessor, you will be required to  

  • Deliver face-to-face as well as remote food safety training, encompassing HLTFSE001 
  • Complete relevant administration in line with regulatory requirements 
  • You will be responsible for demonstrating how to use equipment, maintain course records, ensure specific skills and competencies are met. 
  • Provide performance feedback to community and corporate groups.  



  • This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead small-moderate sized groups in an effective manner.  
  • The ideal candidate will be culturally sensitive, kind and patient. 
  • Current Certificate IV TAE 40116 equivalent in training and assessment or higher.  
  • Holds a current HLTFSE001 Follow Basic Food Safety Practices or higher. 
  • Previous industry experience is required.  
  • The ability to work flexible hours based on client needs is necessary.  
  • Must have a current drivers licence and have your own reliable transport for travel across Melbourne. 
  • Strong administration and organisational skills. 
  • Must demonstrate industry and vocational currency through ongoing relevant professional development
  • Must hold a current Working with Children Card – or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing
