CLASS SCHEDULE - Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk

 
The Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk gives you the basic information you need to identify a risk of family violence to clients. It teaches you how to ask about family violence, and how to respond sensitively if someone makes a disclosure.  

You will gain skills and confidence in identifying and screening for family violence, as well as in identifying appropriate referral pathways for clients. 

The Victorian government has recently made family violence education a high priority, and all new and continuing community services students are now strongly encouraged to undertake this course.

Program Outline 

DELIVERY: This training is delivered in an online virtual classroom with an experienced trainer.  

DURATION: The training is twelve hours in total, delivered over either three daytime or four evening classes, on weekdays or Saturdays. You will have to attend all classes. 

There are three written assessments and two practical tasks that will allow you to demonstrate the theory, knowledge and skills you have gained in the course. All tasks will have to be completed in your own time, within the timeframe outlined by the trainer.
